Tappan Lake is located in Harrison County, Ohio. With 2,350 acres and a 399 horsepower limit, there’s plenty of room for water sports like skiing, tubing and bays for fishing. Tappan is currently ranked #4 for the best saugeye fishing in the state and high rankings for crappie!
Two public launch ramps and boating docks are available to launch your own boat (one is directly across the road from the resort) or check with the marina for rental options.
Tappan Park is located on the opposite side of the lake. There you can find a swimming beach, concession stand, activity center and nature center. Hiking trails can be found around the lake including a connection to Ohio’s Buckeye Trail!
Yes, all cabins are pet-friendly with a $25/per night, per pet fee with a maximum of 2 pets (1 pet per 2 person A-Frame). We request only well-behaved pets that must remain off of the furniture, leashed when outside & always in your presence. Please help keep the resort clean by cleaning up after your pet.
Firewood is available for purchase at the Lakeside Store, located at the front of the property. Firewood from outside of the state lines is prohibited by law.
Yes! Each cabin has parking for 1 vehicle. Vehicles with trailers are able to park adjacent to the resort office near the entrance. Additionally, the public boat launch is located across SR250 with parking & docks to put your boat in the water.
For cottage guests:
The driveway can accommodate a couple of vehicles and a boat trailer (ours is 28′). The closest boat launch with parking & docks is located across from Lakeside Store & only a few minutes from the cottage.
With the nature of the resort being built into a hillside, we do not have accommodations that are handicap accessible.
The following cabins have ramps located at the rear of the cabin for easy accessibility:
Mini Lodges: Banff, Yellowstone, Jasper
MidSize Cabins: Yosemite & Glacier
The following cabins have spiral staircases located on the main level to give access to the open loft:

All cabins have their own private bathrooms except the 2 person, A-Frames. Guests staying in an A-Frame will use 1 of 3 bathroom/shower stalls at the Recreational Center. Towels & soaps are provided for all guests of the resort.
Linens are provided for all cabins, including bath towels*. A few everyday items can also be found in cabins with kitchenettes/kitchens such as:
*Bath Towels should not leave the property
Check-in is at 3pm and check-out is at 10am.
Kayaks and paddle boards are available to rent from our resort office. To ensure availability, you can add-on a rental while booking your reservation. Boat rentals are available seasonally from Tappan Marina located 1 mile away.
